Welcome to PeacefulPDF ("we", "us", "our"). Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our website, peacefulpdf.com (the "Service").

The short version: your files never leave your device. We do collect anonymous, aggregated visitor statistics about the website itself — which pages get viewed, and roughly where in the world visitors come from — so we know which tools are worth improving. Those two facts are separate, and the sections below explain exactly where the line sits.

Your Files Never Leave Your Device

PeacefulPDF is designed to operate entirely within your web browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or process the content of the files you work with.

  • No File Uploads: Your PDF files and any other documents you use with our tools are processed locally on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers.
  • No File Metadata: We never receive your file names, file sizes, page counts, or the text, images, signatures, or form data inside your documents. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and none of it is included in our analytics.
  • No Personal Information: We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information (like name, email address, etc.) to use our Service.
  • No Accounts, No Profiles: We do not build advertising profiles, we do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not run ad-tracking or retargeting pixels.

How Your Files Are Handled

All PDF processing operations (merging, splitting, converting, etc.) are performed using JavaScript libraries that run directly in your browser. The data remains on your computer throughout the process. Once you close your browser tab or navigate away from the tool, any temporary data related to the processing is typically cleared by the browser.

You do not have to take our word for this. You can disconnect from the internet entirely — or switch your device to airplane mode — and every tool on this site will still work. You can also open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and confirm that no request carrying your file is ever made.

Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic to the website. This tells us which pages people visit and which tools are actually being used, so we can decide what to build and fix. It is used for nothing else.

What Google Analytics receives:

  • Which pages you view on peacefulpdf.com, and in what order
  • An approximate location (typically country or city level), derived from your IP address
  • Device and browser type, screen size, and language
  • The referring site or search engine that sent you here, if any

What Google Analytics never receives:

  • Your files, or anything at all about them — including their names
  • Anything you type into a tool, such as invoice details, form entries, passwords, or signatures
  • Your name, email address, or any other information identifying you personally

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses; your IP is used transiently to estimate location and is then discarded. To do its counting, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a repeat visit. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies, and we have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features, or cross-site ad personalisation. Event-level analytics data is retained for two months — the shortest period Google Analytics permits — and is then deleted automatically. Google's own handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

If you would rather not be counted at all, that is entirely reasonable and easy to do: any content blocker, tracker-blocking browser, or Google's own Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on will stop it, and every tool on this site will continue to work exactly as before. Nothing on PeacefulPDF depends on analytics loading.

Data Stored On Your Own Device

Some features save information in your browser's local storage so your work survives a page refresh. This data stays on your computer, is readable only by your own browser, and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

  • Theme preference: whether you chose light or dark mode.
  • Invoice Maker: your saved invoice drafts and invoice history, including any business or client details you enter. These are stored only on your device.
  • Blank PDF Maker: your saved page presets.

You can erase all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for peacefulpdf.com, or by using the delete controls inside the tools themselves. Because this data lives only on your device, we cannot recover it for you if you clear it — and equally, we could not hand it to anyone else if we were asked.

Hosting

The Service is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver pages to your browser and may log standard request information for security and reliability purposes. We do not operate an application server, and there is no database in which your files or personal data could be stored.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Third-Party Links

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
